Dear mothers and daughters,

Happy (belated) Mother’s Day—celebrating your awesomeness as awakened mamas raising these incredible girls. Wren made me some sweet flowers for Mother’s Day, despite the fact that I was laid up in bed with a vomiting bug! Hence, the delay with this newsletter, apologies.

Our circle is now officially formed and complete, and I feel so excited for the journey ahead. It was beautiful to share our stories and begin weaving this web of woman-becoming for our girls. Orla and Grace, who also attend a tender circle at my home, have also been warmly welcomed.

I hope our first gathering may already have opened the door to some meaningful conversations between you and your daughter. You might gently explore how she is feeling about her first period after hearing the mothers’ stories—perhaps she feels curious, excited, or has new questions.  All these questions and more will be in the members' area for future reference.

It could also be a lovely moment to ask how she might like this transition to be acknowledged when the time comes. Some girls prefer a quiet acknowledgement, while others enjoy a celebration. There is no right or wrong—only what feels true for her.

For our March gathering, we will be creating Indra’s Web, a practice to explore and strengthen the bonds forming between us.

You might also ask whether she noticed similarities or differences between the girls, or if she’d like to share the message she placed in her namestone.

Please also invite the girls to bring a bead to our next circle (between the size of a pea and a marble). If they wish, someone important in their life can gift the bead by blowing a blessing into it and wrapping it in paper. This can happen anytime during the year, so bringing a bead from home for now is absolutely fine. As the beads will remain part of the Indra’s Web, please make sure nothing of great value is given.

There is nothing else the girls need to prepare—our next circle is simply about deepening connection.

For those who may feel called to explore their own menarche story more deeply, I’ve also created a downloadable PDF, Reclaiming Menarche, available for £5.
