Beltane newsletter

Dear Mothers and Daughters,

The year is in full swing with the energy of spring all around us.  One could almost be mistaken for the summer!

We missed some of your girls in the space but also settled in to a more intimate circle, which felt tender and productive.

The girls enjoyed learning about the cycles of the moon, day and night, and the cycle of the breath, as demonstrated in the meditation with the shruti box. We began a collage that will develop over the course of the year. It was wonderful to see the girls get stuck into the mandala we will be sharing with you in July when you attend with your girls.

I would like to invite the girls to gather pictures that represent all or any of the seasons to bring in for this ongoing shared piece of work.

The next gathering is on the 11th of May, and we will be making May Crowns from seasonal flowers. It would be great if mothers can go out with their girls on the morning of the circle and allow time for them to connect with one plant that particularly catches their attention and gather some to use in their crown. Bear in mind that it will need to be something robust enough to last for a few hours once picked, as some of the more tender meadow flowers, for example, may just wilt. But it will be good to notice what they are drawn to and talk about this when they come.

To Do:

  1. Gather pictures or images for the collage representing different times of the day, the moon cycle, and the seasons of the year.

  2. Spend time in nature gathering a plant to bring for the May crowns—this can be flowers or greenery such as ivy (remembering to ask the plant before taking).

Sending Beltane blessings

All my love

Daniella
